you guys constantly asked me to do
drugstore skincare reviews and the truth
is there are some products I buy from
the drugstore and some products I don't
buy from the drugstore so today I'm
gonna share with you what I look for in
drugstore skincare products and what I
try to avoid before I start to show you
guys actual products that I buy from the
drugstore I want to talk to you guys
about my overall thoughts on drugstore
skincare products I'd say overall you
have a really great selection there are
some really well-known brands and
drugstores that do a lot of research
they've had products that have been well
tested and have been on the market for a
very long time and people see really
great results from them that said I do
tend to find that sometimes the best
products at the drugstore aren't
necessarily the more affordable cheaper
products so that's something to keep in
mind just because it's at the drugstore
doesn't mean that it's going to be more
affordable it just means that it happens
to be a little bit easier to access
there are also labels that I tend to
look for when I'm buying drugstore
skincare products because it just helps
weed things out for me since there are
so many options
things like fragrance free alcohol-free
and non comedogenic those are really big
ones for me when I'm buying my drugstore
products and one of the other things I
do is I turn the bottles around and I
look at all of the ingredients in
drugstore skincare products because what
I do find is that a lot of these masse
beauty brands tend to use a lot of
filler ingredients and that kind of
trick us into thinking like the product
feels nicer or it feels nice on our
scanner makes us look really good but
it's all very temporary some of these
ingredients include silicone you'll see
it listed as de mythic own I also you
see a lot of mineral oil being used in
drugstore products neither of these
ingredients are bad and when you speak
to dermatologists the majority of them
will tell you that silicone especially
is totally fine to use it's just a
moisturizer they say the same thing
about mineral oil totally fine to use
and at the end of the day like you know
we've all probably used a little bit of
like Vaseline for instance and what they
use it for is because it feels really
nice it's a moisturizer but it happens
to be occlusive so if you use too much
of it I feel like it just sits on top of
your skin and it does end up clogging
your pores at least that's my experience
a lot of people might argue with me
about that one and say that silicone is
totally by
because I know I'm gonna end up having
at least one product that's gonna have
the silicone in it same with mineral oil
oh it's not clean it's toxic it's bad
for you it's also just moisturizer
people use it to make you know their
products feel really nice when you're
putting them on and they go on really
smooth and um it's it's kind of like on
top of your skin it doesn't absorb but
again it kind of sits on top of your
