Best Drugstore Skincare for Dry + Sensitive Skin

hey guys and welcome back to my channel

so today's video is going to be all

about my drugstore skincare routine last

night when I went to bed my skin was

looking so good so I thought this would

be a great video to film for you guys

today and then of course when I woke up

this morning my skin was given me some

issues I've got a few pimples down on my

chin but then I thought you know what

everybody gets pimples and nobody has

perfect skin so I'm just gonna fill in

this video anyways and hopefully it's

helpful for you guys if you have similar

skin to me I have very dry sensitive

skin and it tends to break out if I use

anything that has irritating ingredients

so any kind of like alcohol or fragrant

ingredients will definitely break my

skin out and make it look red so the

products that I'm going to show you in

this video today are all of drugstore

products with the exemption of one

product but it is affordable so it's

definitely something that you can put

into your skincare routine if you like

to use affordable products the reason we

tend to use drugstore products over

high-end products is because drugstore

products you can find brands that use

very simple ingredients and I find a lot

of high-end products tend to use very

irritating ingredients you just don't

really need to spend the money on really

great skincare

I don't think anyways I think the

director has some really great options

and since I've switched to the skincare

routine and my skin has gotten so much

better so hopefully this video is

helpful for you guys and you can try

some of these products and see if they

work for you last year I was having a

lot of issues with my skin just in

regards to breakouts so I'll insert some

pictures that you guys can see but what

was happening was around my mouth and

chin area I was getting a lot of

consistent breakouts

there was never really a time for about

the period of a year where I didn't have

a breakout on my chin and it's not like

they were terrible or anything so it

could have been a lot worse but it was

something that bothered me and

definitely reduced my confidence a

little bit it also looked pretty gnarly

under makeup whenever I wear makeup

overtop it definitely clung to those

patches and I just did not like the way

it looked so I decided to go to a

dermatologist and see if she could help

me figure out some products that would

work better for me so for the period of

about a year or so I think I was using

this cleanser that is

very very popular in the beauty

community and it's the philosophy purity

made simple cleanser and this is my

third bottle of this stuff so you can

tell I used it religiously I kind of

went and did some research into this

stuff because I thought maybe it could

be this that was bothering my skin and I

went on to the site called Beauty pedia

I believe it's called

and it's basically like a partner site

with Paula's choice and I think it's

dermatologists run don't quote me on

that but from what I can tell it's

dermatologists that review products and

let you know if they're going to be good

for your skin or not so I went onto that

website and I checked out the review for

this guy and it turns out this can be

very very irritating on your skin

because it does have a lot of fragrant

oils in it and because it also has if

you look near the end it's got pepper

fruit oil I ended up not using this in

my skincare any more and I do think that

that made a difference so if you find

that you are having constant breakouts

or red irritated skin and you're using

this maybe try not using it anymore

because I do find that if I forget my

other cleanser somewhere or just don't

have it and I use this one my skin does

get very very red so instead I switch to

this hair right here and this is the

Savi hydrating cleanser I use the

hydrating one because I have dry skin

but they also have a foaming cleanser

for oily skin and I've heard that one is

really great too this is my third bottle

of this and I absolutely love it I would

not buy any other cleanser than this one

because I know this one works for my

skin basically it's just got really

simple ingredients and it's got

ceramides and hyaluronic acid for your

dry skin it says it's non comedogenic

not irritating and non drying and I

totally agree with all of those claims

this works so well for me it's not the

best at removing makeup but I do use a

makeup remover before I go in with this

anyways if I'm taking off my makeup

before I use this I will use the Garnier

micellar water this is just the pink one

for regular makeup it says it's for all

skin types even sensitive and what I

love about this one is that it's

alcohol-free so it's kind of hard to

find a makeup remover especially in

liquid form that's alcohol-free and this

one is just a great very few ingredient

micellar water that works at taking off

makeup wonderfully I just put it onto a

cotton pad

then just wipe it all around my face

it's also very very affordable I think

this retails for $8.00 if you have not

tried these micellar waters I definitely

suggest them they do have one that has a

blue cap for waterproof makeup and I

believe they're coming out with a new

one that has a green cap and it's for

oily skin and this works for all makeup

so it does work for face eyes and lips

and it removes everything I have no

problem taking off liquid lipstick with

this it works awesome the other product

that I go for to remove makeup if I'm

using makeup wipes because this is not

exactly travel friendly when I'm

traveling I use say yes to coconut wipes

these are a drugstore brand and they

have other ones too like say yes to

carrots say yes to cucumbers I think

I've used a cucumber one and that one is

awesome too but these ones are awesome

because they remove your makeup really

well and they are very hydrating on the

skin they also smell so good they smell

like a tropical vacation as far as the

ingredient list goes I think everything

is pretty good it does have fragrance in

it which is not the greatest for your

skin but I don't find it to be

irritating at all and I do generally

cleanse my face after using this so it's

not like this is staying on my skin so

after I've cleansed my skin the next

thing I will go in with is a moisturizer

and like I said I don't use a serum or a

spray or anything like that because I

just don't find that I need it so in the

daytime the next thing I'll go in with

is the Cetaphil daily facial moisturizer

and this is one that has SPF 15 they do

have one that also has SPF 50 but when I

went to see that dermatologist she said

try not to use things that have a super

high SPF on your face because if you do

have sensitive skin the highest PF can

be irritating so if you're just using a

daily moisturizer SPF 15 is probably

okay I know this one works for me you do

definitely want to use a daily

moisturizer that has SPF because your

skin will get damaged by the Sun if

you're not using SPF this one is great

because it's non comedogenic oil free

fragrance free and lightweight the other

thing the dermatologist said is that if

you're using very very heavy creams on

your skin those can break you out

because they are so heavy the other

thing I like about this is the

consistency of it so I'll put a little

bit on my finger but it is very like

creamy so you'll see the other one that

I use is not exactly like this but this

one just

feels creamy on my fingers and that's

why I like it so much it wears very well

under makeup and it makes my dry patches

look pretty good I think this one

retails for around $15 so it's a little

bit up there in terms of drugstore price

but it's still drugstores I mean it's

not going to cost you $40 for a little

tiny container and it does have 120 mils

so it's definitely a pretty good price

for how much you're going to get this

has lasted me probably about a year

which is really good okay so the next

product I use and I do use this one day

and night is the user and replenishing

face cream and this one has five percent

urea which is supposed to hydrate the

skin and make it feel really smooth and

I totally agree with that it makes my

skin feel so soft some of the claims are

that it replenishes dry and very dry

tight facial skin it's suitable for use

after shaving it hydrates and protects

the facial skin it doesn't have parabens

and it's clinically proven efficacy

which basically means that it's

effective at doing what it's intended to

do which I agree with and it's

compatible with all skin types so like I

said I do use this one day and night

however it does not have SPF in it so

I'll only use it during the day if I'm

going to be using something else on my

skin that has SPF for example some of

the foundations that I use have SPF so I

can use this underneath this one retails

for I believe around 12 Canadian dollars

I think I'll have to check on that but I

will list everything down below by the

way everything will be linked down below

and I'll put prices for everything but I

definitely recommend this one if you're

looking for something that's going to

smooth your skin because this one makes

my skin feel as soft as a baby's bum so

definitely recommend this so the next

one I'm going to talk about is another

moisturizer but this one is a night

moisturizer and it is the CeraVe night

facial moisturizing lotion and it looks

like that so this one comes with 89

milliliters so it's definitely a lot

less than the Cetaphil but it is a

really good moisturizing lotion for

nighttime the first thing I thought when

I tried this for the very first time was

that it was not going to moisturize my

skin and it was not going to be enough

because the consistency of it is very

like lightweight and for a nighttime

moisturizer I thought that that was

going to be too lightweight but once you

start using it and once your skin gets

used to it it takes a little while for

your skin to get used to

Sisseton see of this moisturizer at

least it minded but after using it for

probably about a week my skin it started

to love this and this is so gentle on my

skin again it's got very very simple

ingredients and the ingredients list

it's like not super long so this one

does say that it's for normal to oily

skin but what I did notice is that in

these states the CeraVe nighttime facial

moisturizing lotion which is the exact

same as this one it has all the exact

same ingredients i cross-referenced them

to make sure this one in the United

States says that it's for normal to dry

skin so I'm not exactly sure why in

Canada it says normal to oily but it's

the exact same product so this one also

helps replenish your skin's natural

protective moisture barrier and it has

ceramides niacinamide

and hyaluronic acid which are all

hydrating ingredients and are all going

to help your skin's moisture barrier

CeraVe also makes a daytime moisturizer

which is basically looks the exact same

as this it's just got a like lighter

blue and not what I've also tried and is

also really good honestly you guys

everything from the Cetaphil and Sarah B

lines I think is amazing everything that

I've tried has worked really well for my

skin these are just some ones that I'm

using right now so that is it for my

facial moisturizers now the other thing

that I will use and this is the one

product I was going to talk about that's

not necessarily drugstore but it is

pretty affordable is the Sephora mud

mask purifying and mattifying this is

the old packaging now it's like all

white and then I think it's got like

grey this is basically the Sephora dupe

for the glam glow mud mask and I tried

both and honestly this one I think is

better because it doesn't have that

awful like licorice set that the other

one does but it basically looks pretty

much the same mine's been dried out a

little bit because this one is a little

bit old this is so amazing

I believe this one retails for $25 so

that's not terrible if you consider that

some of the L'Oreal drugstore masks are

around like the $20 range so an extra $5

you're going to get an awesome facial

mask so because I do have dry skin I did

not use this all over my face because it

can be pretty drying I use this to spot

treat any pimples or on my nose to just

kind of remove impurities so I don't

really know a whole lot about how this

purifies your skin but it has zinc and

copper

just supposed to be really purifying on

your skin honestly I don't really know

much about that but it works for me it

makes my skin look really nice and

purified like you can see it pulling the

oils out of your skin if you've ever

seen people use the glam glow mask this

is basically the exact same thing just

wait cheaper so if you do not want to

spend the $69 on the glam glow mask

which I don't definitely pick this one

up and let me know what you think so the

last thing I wanted to mention it's not

drugstore and you have to have a

prescription to get it but I did want to

mention it because honestly it has

helped my skin so much

I don't know how healthcare works in

other countries but in Canada this would

be really easy for you to get so that's

why I wanted to mention it but I'm sorry

if you can't get it in other countries

because it's not as easy or accessible

for you but basically what I went to see

that dermatologist she told me that I

should start using a topical antibiotic

on my skin and now I use this every

night and basically if I don't use it it

just makes a huge difference and it's

called clindamycin phosphate and you

just dab it all over your skin before

you put your moisturizer on at night and

it has been so great for my skin and I

recommend it highly highly highly if you

have problems with your skin and you

don't want to try anything that's going

to be like very very harsh if you go see

a doctor and they think this is going to

help your skin I would definitely give

it a try I mean I am NOT a doctor so

take what I say with a grain of salt but

this has worked for my skin and yeah

it's if you have mild acne I think it

should work for you too but if your

doctor doesn't think it's going to work

for you then just completely ignore what

I'm saying so you'll notice in my

skincare that I actually don't use any

exfoliator because it's way too harsh on

my skin it just irritates my skin so

badly it makes it so red so I don't use

a physical exfoliator but what I do use

actually and this was recommended by the

dermatologist is just a cloth so what

I'll do is I will put the cleanser all

over my face and then I will wet just a

part of the cloth and very very gently

just rub it on my skin and that's what

she recommended and it seems to work for

exfoliation so if you've heard otherwise

and you don't think this is good for

your skin this is just what works for me

I can't Ness

they recommend it and tell you what's

going to work for you but yeah this

makes my skin feel soft it exfoliates

nicely without being too harsh so this

is what I use and I mean it's cheap you

don't have to really buy it if you have

cloths at homes all right you guys that

is everything for my skincare routine I

know it's not like a ton of products but

basically this is just the stuff that

works really well for me and I honestly

don't think I need to go and spend a ton

of money on products that I don't really

need my skin has not ever been terrible

or anything like that but I was having

mild consistent acne that did bother me

so after switching to the skincare

routine I think my skin has improved a

lot and I don't have that consistent

acne on my chin I mean obviously I still

get some acne especially around certain

times of the month this has really

helped the irritation on my skin go down

I do not suffer really from red cheeks

like I was before like any time I wash

my face when I was using this guy my

skin would get super red and just

irritated and itchy my skin doesn't get

itchy anymore

unless it's just from dryness but yeah

basically all of these products I would

recommend to you if you'll dry sensitive

skin even most of them if you have oily

skin or non sensitive skin I think these

products are great I like to stick to

the simple skin care routine because it

works for me honestly I don't think I'll

be changing anything out of the skincare

routine any time soon because I love all

of these products so if you guys have

tried these products or you're going to

go try them after my recommendation let

me know how it goes

are you guys so that's pretty much it I

hope you enjoyed this video and if you

did give it a thumbs up make sure you

subscribe before you leave and I'll see

you in my next blogger bye guys
